Lost Head Nails

Lost head nails, also known as finish nails or lost-head panel pins, have a small head that can be punched below the timber surface for a clean finish. Kin Metal supplies lost head nails in carbon steel, 10-80 mm lengths and 1.0-3.5 mm diameters, in bright and galvanized finishes.
Lost Head Nail Applications
Lost head nails are used in joinery, furniture, mouldings, skirting boards, door frames and interior panelling where the nail head must be invisible. The nail is driven with a punch, and the small hole is filled with wood filler. They are also used for fixing tongue-and-groove boards and thin trim where a standard nail head would spoil the appearance.
Sizes and Packaging
Common lengths are 25 mm, 38 mm, 50 mm and 65 mm. We supply lost head nails in bulk cartons, poly bags and retail assortments, with bright or galvanized finishes and custom packing for hardware distributors and importers.
